We all dream for a happy life for us and for the people we love. But how many of us really care about what we eat, what we think, what we drink? Things that can heal us or destroy our immune system…

I’ve read a lot of books about how to eat properly, how to live properly… I’ve watched a lot of movies about the manipulation that takes us exactly where the industry of pharma wants us – to be the perfect consumer for drugs and other addictions.

That’s why I sincerely recommend the series “The Truth about Cancer” and “The Food Revolution“. Sometimes you can watch it online, if you register. If not, you can search it on YouTube.

Sometimes people don’t care about this kind of things. But, sometimes, close people of ours, friends or family, have to face terrible diseases. Or, if we are lucky enough to keep ourselves far away from the drama, it is always a good choice to have a good, healthy life. For this, we need acknowledgement.

The food revolution helps ourselves to boost our immune system and to power up our life. And they recommend a list of natural foods, very easy to find and include in our daily diet. Many varieties of mushrooms contain good-for-your-bladder selenium and, like us, they produce vitamin D when exposed to sunlight. Oyster mushrooms are a good source or iron. Plus, they’re low in calories!

I found very interesting information about this super food on the website of The Food Revolution.

“The ancient Egyptians believed that eating mushrooms brought long life. Turns out they weren’t far from the truth: scientists today are investigating the medicinal properties of mushrooms and beginning to see fascinating results.”

It seems that women who combined eating mushrooms with regular consumption of green tea saw an even greater benefit – they reduced their breast cancer risk by an astounding 89%.

“Mushrooms are thought to protect against breast and other hormone-related cancers particularly because they inhibit an enzyme called aromatase, which produces estrogen. Mushrooms are one of the very few foods that inhibit aromatase (pomegranate is another). And several varieties of mushrooms, including the commonly eaten white button and portabella mushrooms, have strong anti-aromatase activity. Mushrooms also contain specialized lectins that recognize cancer cells and have been found to prevent these cells from growing and dividing.”

They are best enjoyed cooked (never raw) and daily, if possible.  Dried mushrooms have a slightly less protective effect, but they are also super food.

Even if the powder or capsule may not so effective as the fresh ones, it helps a lot:
